Running a business takes dedication, hard work, and smart decisions. Commercial insurance gives businesses the security to operate with confidence, knowing they’re covered when it counts. At Advanced Solutions, we’re proud to support businesses in our community with policies that fit just right.
Commercial insurance isn’t one policy so much as a set of them, and most small businesses need four or five. These are the six that come up on almost every first call.

Your building if you own it, plus equipment, furniture and inventory, against fire, theft, wind and other covered losses. Renting? Your lease may still require it.
General liability and property packaged together, usually for less than buying them separately. For most small businesses, it’s the place to start.
Medical bills and lost wages for employees hurt on the job. Required for most Mississippi businesses with five or more employees.
Vehicles your business owns or uses. A personal auto policy usually won’t cover a vehicle used mainly for work, and state liability minimums still apply.

Beyond that, most requirements come from contracts — landlords, lenders and clients often write insurance minimums into their agreements.
General liability covers physical harm — someone hurt on your premises, property you damage. Professional liability, also called errors and omissions, covers the work itself: a mistake or bad advice that costs a client money. Anyone selling expertise usually needs both.

Standard business income forms also include civil authority coverage, which can pay for a limited time when authorities bar access to your premises because of storm damage nearby, even if your own building is untouched. A precautionary evacuation ordered before any damage generally won’t trigger it. Read that section before June.
If you take card payments, store customer information or depend on computers to operate, it’s worth pricing. It covers the cost of a data breach or ransomware attack — notification, recovery and liability — which general liability usually excludes.
